Groundbreaking Move: Brightline Becomes the First Rail Company to Incorporate Starlink Internet Service

Brightline, a rail company, announced that it is the first passenger railway service to offer Starlink’s high-speed and low-latency broadband services.

Starlink internet connectivity has been added to the fleet of Brightline trains that service South Florida from Miami to West Palm Beach as part of Brightline’s digital transformation.

Soon, the service will include the five-train fleet that will service Orlando in the summer of this year. This brings the total number of trains between South Florida and Central Florida to 10. All passengers will receive free access to the Starlink internet service.

Kevin McAuliffe, Brightline’s CEO, said that Brightline would be the first train set in the world to utilize the Starlink system. Brightline’s Kevin McAuliffe said, “This is a great example of what we are – a passenger rail company that is paving the path for high-speed trains in the U.S. Brightline works with some the best tech teams from around the world and our partnership will elevate our brand into the stars.”

Brightline chose Starlink as its Internet partner to demonstrate their commitment to innovation, sustainability and cutting-edge technologies that will help improve passenger services around the globe.

Jonathan Hofeller, Starlink’s CEO, said that Brightline is the first rail company in the world adopting Starlink. “Brightline continues to be a leader in the industry.” Brightline is excited to provide Starlink for their entire fleet. This will allow all Brightline passengers to have access to high-speed internet, with low latency, that’s critical in today’s world.

The rail company has also announced that its Orlando Station will open this summer, connecting major cities such as West Palm Beach Boca Raton Fort Lauderdale Aventura Miami.
