Disney Cruise Line has revealed a rendering of its Disney Treasure ship’s stern. The company is preparing for the launch of Disney Treasure in 2024.
DCL officials announced the news on Tuesday, in Celebration, Florida. Disney Treasure will continue the tradition of the cruise line, which is to be adorned with popular characters, with the additions of Peter Pan and Captain Hook at the stern.
Peter Pan is shown in the artist’s rendering using Tinker Bell pixie powder to finish the ship’s filigree at the stern with a paintbrush. Captain Hook, with a yellow-painted angry face, leans through a porthole.
DCL celebrated a major milestone in the construction process of Disney Treasure with a special keel-laying ceremony held at Germany’s Meyer Werft Shipyard. Philip Gennotte was Walt Disney Imagineering Germany’s portfolio project manager and he placed a newly minted coin beneath the keel.
The second of three ships scheduled to be delivered by 2025, the new vessel will be delivered in 2024. The Wish Class DCL vessels use liquefied gas to power them and have approximately 1,254 staterooms.
